IML MICRO HAMMER Sound Velocity Measurement  Click to enlarge   Micro Hammer for reliable and early detection of internal defects in wood The Micro Hammer is the ideal measurement instrument for the non-destructive evaluation of internal defects in trees. The Micro Hammer measures the time it takes an impulse to travel through a tree, i.e. between an impact screw and a sensor screw. Due to the characteristic’s speed of sound for each tree specie, the measured values clearly display the inner conditions of the tree. The Micro Hammer localizes:   Decay within root areas   Decay in the early stages of growth   Water pockets   Disfigured tree forms   Wet cores   Cracks   Included bark The new Micro Hammer has a much smaller, more high-sensitive sensor and we are using new attachment method with special screws which minimizes the damage to trees. The integrated Bluetooth module ensures wireless downloads of your measuring data to your laptop or desktop.
