Small Instrument, Great Effect! The IML- Resistograph System is based on a drilling resistance measuring method. A drilling needle with a diameter of 1.5 mm to 3.0 mm penetrates into the wooden structure with a regular advance speed, and the drilling resistance is measured. The data is recorded on a wax paper strip at a scale of 1:1 or instantly printed out by a printer. The advantages of the Resistograph are quite obvious: The wood will only be insignificantly injured, and the drilling hole closes itself due to a special drilling angle that was customized for the drill bit. A special computer program (F-Tools, E-Tools, B-Tools, and T-Tools - see Electronic Unit) is available for all instruments. If the Resistograph is equipped with the Electronic Unit the user might as well downloads all information gathered during the day into the above mentioned computer program.
